20 year old undecided on a career in life
David A asked:
Hello all, I am a college student attending a community college…this is my last semester and then I am moving on to a university. I am persuing a business degree because that is the only thing that attracts my attention BUSINESS. I am good at other things, i work at a dental clinic with my wife at the front desk…boring.. i work with a company fixing computers….kind of cool but ehhh still boring, i help out my father installing directv/plasma and hometheaters and that too is kind of cool but I dont want to do that for the rest of my life. I want to find something that I can really ENJOY with my wife and something that gives us pleasure in doing. We like helping other people and we like to travel. I really have some goals like getting a house by next year and i think what i am doing is building too much pressure and stress in myself. I want to prove people that I will be better off and I will succeed but what matters to me is that I find something amazing where i dont have to spend time going to a 9-5 job. I have tried network marketing but found out it is not my thing, recently tried a paid surf website that is currently being investigated by the fbi and now $3k of my savings are at stake :(. I take all of this as life lessons that will never happen again but then again i really want to make money even though it isnt the only thing that makes us humans happpy.

I think you will do fine just stay focus on what you know deep down inside is really important to you & you will get it, you can do it!!

I would recommend that you don’t put too much stress on yourself. You’re still young with your entire life ahead of you.
I suggest you take on a mentor or two, do a bit of shadowing in fields you are interested in, and give your own skills a chance to shine. It sounds like you would do great as your own boss; maybe eventually you could start a business…help others, travel, and enjoy life all at the same time.

life lesson-take notes-
if you are good at something and like it (don’t have to love it-it’s work!)
if you work hard
if you are willing to make a few sacrifices along the way
if you continue to learn
you will earn a decent living-no matter waht you do.
