Are MLM (multi-level-marketing) companies easy to start from home?

Multi Level Marketing
fantabu1ous asked:

My friend would like to market a new product, he is considering MLM, would it be better to contact an existing MLM company or would it be more advantageous to start your own?
I can understand your view. But consider the Acai berry diet craze that has been mentioned on Oprah and Rachel Ray!!!!!! Holy Cow, you better get some! All that hype is from an MLM company. Look around, most hyped up big sale products are marketed through MLM, the good ones hang around with established repeat sales.
He’s at the top of the pyramid. You don’t think he’ll make money?

Why MLM?

No legit company picks MLM as the only way to distribute their product.

Most MLMs eventually collapse or are shut down as pyramid schemes.

A good product would sell without the hype and overblown promises of MLM.

you have to pretty much sell that stuff door to door - very labor intensive, probably won;t make a decent hourly wage for all the time you will have to put into any MLM business.

I’ve never known anyone personally that made any real money in an MLM

All I can say to you on an honest basis is that some of these online opportunities are proven to be scams that is very true therefore it is about researching to see what is genuine and what is not however some people think that online businesses are get rich quick schemes which they are not they take alot of work just like any business however the rewards for that work will be good. I have been a personal development and success coach and the most genuine opportunity I have found is a 3 1/2 year old company.

It baffles me some of the responses I see yahoo answers in regards to MLM.

I highly recommend that before your friend either gets involved with an existing MLM or starts a MLM company that he understands how it works. You should let him know that MLM’s are not a way to get rich overnight despite the hype. It takes 3 to 5 even 10 years or more to learn the industry and become a success.

To often people get all excited about an opportunity because some one on a stage is dancing around in a fancy suit holding up some big bonus check. They then drive away in their expensive car. Yes, there are people in MLM who are successful and make money but it takes many, many years. Only a few make in the first six months. There are also many many more who try for less than six months and quit because they were not trained properly, had a lousy sponsor, lacked confidence or were just plain lazy. Once you become a part of MLM, you become a leader. Your role is not to just collect a commission check.

It takes blood, sweat and tears. You have to be able to accept rejection from family and friends. This is the way it is. There are people who will complain about their lives then won’t even look at your opportunity when offered. They are too scared to leave their comfort zone. You will have family and friends who will promise to show up for appointment or presentation and on that day they will not show up or they come up with some lame excuse. I say not to discourage you or your friend but to prepare both of you so you will be tough and become determined.

You have to have a fighting spirit never to give up and to keep moving forward. There will be days when you will want to quit. There will be days when you would rather watch TV then go and talk to people. The important thing to remember is this is a relationship business.

You cannot make excuses yourself. Do not blame your sponsor, your downline, your product, or the compensation plan. Do not use your kids, your job, your life as an excuse unless it is something serious such as an illness in the family. MLM is totally based on results. You have to get used to not getting a pay check every two weeks. You also need to develop a business mindset and stop thinking like an employee. In MLM, you are the boss and you make the decisions.

Learn to make friends with people and find out what they want. It will take time to get people to trust you. People will think nothing of going to a store and spend thousand of dollars on a new computer or flat screen TV, but will question if they should even consider looking a your product/service or opportunity. I hope this information helps.

You don’t need MLM.
and starting an MLM business could cost millions of dollars.
you need affiliate program.

he can sell his products using an affiliate program (his own affiliate program)
if he believe in the product and sure it will succeed he can establish his own website with his own affiliate program, contact one of the top affiliate marketers on line and share revenue with his.

or he can join any affiliate network and open an advertiser account.
